Roman Legacy and Timeless Culture
Italy offers well-known cities, such as Rome, Naples, and Florence where antiquity and modernity collide and compliment, as well as less well-known regions like Calabria or can take a slower pace and explore topics from Etruscan history to food and wellness.
An Atlas program in Italy allows travelers to challenge our own perceptions and allows exploration to give us deeper insights into Italy’s identity as well as our own perceptions. Studying the lifestyle of different regions and more rural areas asks us to think critically about the way we eat. And in smaller cities and villages we can also learn about community health, identity, and the connections between cultural traditions and the natural environment. As we trace the country’s steps through the past, we can better understand the impact of art, architecture, and ingenuity on public spaces now and in the future.
