A Global Center for All
New York City represents a vibrant intersection of global cultures, innovative urban design, and artistic expression. From the skyline of Manhattan to the diverse neighborhoods of Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island, NYC offers unique opportunities to explore how a metropolis functions as both a cultural melting pot and an economic powerhouse. Students can investigate the city’s immigrant history at Ellis Island while also experiencing art installations in Chelsea galleries.
Atlas Workshops programs in New York City explore how urban spaces reflect complex questions of equity, identity, and design. We can investigate sustainability and transportation systems, visit community organizations, and consider how neighborhoods adapt to change while preserving their cultural roots. The city becomes a laboratory for examining how diverse communities shape—and are shaped by—the places they call home.
